Benefits of Coconut Oil
As we all have heard, coconut oil has so many uses and even more benefits that come from it. While giving a brief overview in what the best kind of coconut oil was, I’m sure there’s still a lot more you would like to know about nature’s #1 best super food: coconut oil.
As you may have heard but not yet tried out yourself, is that coconut oil can be used in endless ways. It can be used in your hair, for your skin, or even cooking. We’ll show you just how this can be and ways in which you can incorporate coconut oil into your daily routine.
One thing is for sure, we ALL want beautiful, strong, and healthy hair! Many of us may struggle in keeping our hair healthy or trying to repair the damage we have done to our hair. It can be frustrating and get really annoying when nothing seems to be working. There are several product available however that can do wonders! We’ll get into that another time. For now let’s keep things simple with coconut oil.

So how exactly can you get these benefits yourself?? After doing some searching we have found a few recipes that are well worth trying. Just keep in mind, nothing happens overnight of course. So keep up the routine you choose and see how long it takes to achieve the results desired.
Dandruff Treatment: Melt 1/2 coconut oil, squeeze juice of 1 lemon, mix well. Massage into roots and let sit 30 minutes. Shampoo and rinse after.
Shower Routine: After applying shampoo, mix in coconut oil into strands. Massage into scalp and spread entirely through your hair and ends. Let sit for 5 minutes before rinsing.

Coconut Conditioner: Add 3 tbsp coconut oil into container of choice. Mix in 1 tbsp olive oil and 8 drops essential oil of choice. Essential oil examples include: Lavender, peppermint, rosemary, etc.
Now after a shower, you can massage some more coconut oil on your skin to keep it feeling silky and smooth. Coconut oil can be very effective for dry skin. After all, coconut oil puts nutrients back into your skin! Did you know that using this may also get rid of acne? It’s amazing all the things this one oil can accomplish. For example:
- helping with sunburns
- removing makeup
- using as a natural lip balm
- keeping skin moisturized
- helping to promote relaxation & relieve pain

Body Scrub Recipe: Add 1/2 cup coconut oil & 1 cup brown sugar over low heat. Remove after it has melted. Add a few drops of your choice of essential oil.
Start with 1 tbsp honey and 1 tbsp coconut oil. Mix well together. Let set 15 minutes before applying to face. Make sure skin is dry then apply and wait about 5-6 minutes before washing off.
Mix 1 tbsp baking soda and 2 tbsp coconut oil together. Massage into face and let sit on skin for 5 minutes to help skin look young. Wash with lukewarm water.
Impressed yet? You should be! To help improve your oral hygiene all you really need to do is swish some of this coconut oil around as if it was mouthwash. All this so far just further goes to prove how coconut oil is the #1 best super food! However, practicing good oral hygiene routines is important to keep up when doing this.

Simply swish a tablespoon of coconut oil in your mouth daily for approximately 10 minutes or more. Generally you should always spit this out into the trash. Then brush your teeth as you normally would. To use as mouthwash to kill any bacteria that would otherwise be inside, you can mix with baking soda for a natural whitening toothpaste as well.
